Mobulair spent an exhilarating day chasing the new TVR supercar around Dunsfold Aerodrome, home of the world-famous Top Gear test track. We were providing aerial videography for a TV documentary about the new TVR Griffith, the eagerly anticipated supercar from the iconic British sports car maker. We obtained stunning aerial shots of the 200 mph car as it raced around the track as well as footage of the technical team working behind the scenes. The documentary is due to air in 2018 but you can read more here.
Mobulair was in charge of aerial photography at the launch event for Vodafone’s new youth tariff, VOXI. Held in London’s Brick Lane market, it was a star-studded affair featuring lasers, illuminations, and live performances from chart-topper Dua Lipa and One Direction’s Liam Payne. We used 5 drones in all (2 in the air at any one time) to capture aerial video for live-streaming to social media as well as recording the entire event in full 4KHD for distribution to global marketing partners. Thanks to meticulous planning it went without a hitch – read more here.
Mobulair spent the day flying an enormous foam pig over Brighton Pier, in a promotional event for online bookmaker MarathonBet. As one of 4 pilots, each with our own pig to fly, it was a technically challenging job that needed great teamwork and constant communication in order to achieve highly coordinated line-of-sight flying. It was also a lot of fun to watch people’s reactions as they gazed skywards and wondered – had they really just seen a flying pig?!
We provided official aerial photography at an extravagant Indian wedding featuring drummers, a 5-car cavalcade and more besides. Working with the team of photographers on the ground, we captured the happy couple’s big day from above, obtaining stunning panoramas and high-altitude views of the beautiful location (the picturesque West Middlesex Golf Club). There’s nothing boring about these wedding photos – see for yourself!
We just completed a complete site survey of a building with structural damage in only 2 hours – saving our client the expense and hassle of erecting scaffolding. It was a technically challenging job that needed ultra-precision flying with no margin for error. We then constructed 3D models and orthoplanes which the architectural surveyors used to scope the necessary building work.
Our longest and most challenging project to date, the months of planning and early start paid off! We successfully captured the morning sun as it rose over the iconic 02 (previously known as the Millennium Dome) for use in a VR/interactive promotional “experience”. Take part in the full interactive VR experience at O2 venues and locations around the country soon.
We were honoured to capture the first-ever 360° aerial footage of King’s College, Cambridge, as part of a project to create a virtual campus tour. Flying alongside other operators who were filming with standard 2D cameras, the sky above Cambridge was buzzing with drones, attracting huge interest from tourists and dons alike.
Mobulair was the aerial photographer and drone pilot for indie rock band Revere’s latest song ‘Sonder’. Featuring stunning shots filmed above the Sussex coastline and a rather surprising twist, you can watch the video here (skip to 3’50” for the money shot)
Mobulair was interviewed by Rotor Drone magazine about working with James Young and The Alternative Limb Project (read more about the project in our Portfolio). Read the interview here or get a copy in your local newsagent.
For the second time this weekend, Mobulair went to the beach, this time to shoot a new music video for indie rock band Revere. Lead singer Stephen bravely endured freezing cold waves crashing over him as he lay on the beach in his best suit whilst we filmed from above using our newly built heavylift Falcon X8 aerial platform, with Sony A6300 shooting in 4k.
